Our team brings together expertise in residential care, safeguarding, quality assurance, property and service development. Although each person has a different role, we share the same purpose: to create safe, nurturing homes where children feel valued, build meaningful relationships and have every opportunity to thrive.
Katie is responsible for identifying and developing the properties that become Amberley homes. She carefully considers each location, the surrounding community and the individual needs of the children who may live there, ensuring every property provides the right foundations for a safe and stable home.
Working closely with our leadership and care teams, Katie oversees each property’s design, renovation, furnishing and ongoing development. Her focus is always on creating environments that feel calm, warm and genuinely homely, rather than institutional. From welcoming shared spaces to comfortable bedrooms that children can personalise, every detail is considered with safety, wellbeing and belonging in mind.
With a background in property sourcing and management, Katie brings valuable practical experience to Amberley. She understands that the physical environment can have a significant impact on how a child feels and believes every young person deserves to live somewhere they can feel proud to call home.
As Registered Manager, Nikki is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the home and for ensuring every child receives safe, consistent and high-quality care. She leads the staff team, oversees care planning and works closely with social workers, families, education providers and other professionals involved in each child’s life.
Nikki has more than ten years of experience supporting adults and young people with autism, learning disabilities, mental health needs and behaviours that may require additional support. Her experience has given her a strong understanding of Positive Behaviour Support, person-centred care and the importance of looking beyond behaviour to understand what a person may be communicating.
Nikki is passionate about developing confident, compassionate teams who provide children with stability, clear boundaries and meaningful relationships. She promotes a culture where children are listened to, their achievements are celebrated and their care is shaped around their individual needs, experiences and aspirations.
Her leadership style is approachable, reflective and hands-on. She believes that strong relationships between children, staff, families and professionals are essential to creating positive experiences and achieving lasting outcomes.
As Amberley’s Responsible Individual, Kam provides strategic oversight and ensures our homes are operated in accordance with the Children’s Homes Regulations, the Quality Standards and Amberley’s own expectations for outstanding care.
Kam works closely with the Registered Manager to provide support, professional challenge and clear accountability. His responsibilities include monitoring the quality of care, reviewing safeguarding practice, overseeing service development and ensuring that the organisation has the appropriate resources, systems and leadership in place to meet the needs of every child.
With experience in care leadership, safeguarding, compliance and service development, Kam brings a balanced understanding of both operational quality and organisational responsibility. He believes good governance should be visible in children’s everyday experiences, from the consistency of the team supporting them to the safety, warmth and stability of their home.
Kam is committed to creating a culture of openness, learning and continuous improvement. He ensures that children’s voices, professional feedback and the outcomes of quality monitoring are used to strengthen our services and guide future development.
